
The best part of football season is the game time snacking! If you're having friends over, why not have a recipe exchange? Have everyone bring their favorite appetizer, ask them write down the recipes and make copies of them for everyone. I've acquired a couple of these recipes this way.
Pam's Veggie Pizza
Ingredients:
- 1 lg. pkg. Pillsbury crescent rolls (8 ct.)
- 1 sm. pkg. Pillsbury crescent rolls (4 ct.)
- 2 8-oz.tubs whipped cream cheese
- 2/3 cups mayonnaise
- 1/2 tsp. garlic salt
- 1 tsp. dill weed
- chopped green onions
- chopped green peppers
- chopped fresh cauliflower
- chopped fresh broccoli
- celery
- grated carrots
- 1 1/2 cups grated cheddar cheese
- 1 sm. can sliced black olives, drained
Directions:
- Unroll crescent rolls and press onto cookie sheet, pressing seems together. Bake for 10 minutes according to package directions until golden brown. Allow to cool.
- In a small bowl, combine mayonnaise, cream cheese, garlic salt and dill weed and spread over crust.
- Spread chopped green onions, peppers, cauliflower, broccoli, celery and carrots over cream cheese layer.
- Top with grated cheese and sliced black olives.
Ingredients:
- 1 pkg. sweet Italian turkey sausage
- 8 oz. low-fat mozzarella cheese
- 1/2 cup Italian breadcrumbs
- 2 pkg. whole mushrooms
Directions:
- Wash mushrooms, then scoop out the stems with a spoon. Place them them upside down on a cookie sheet sprayed with nonstick cooking spray.
- Chop mushroom stems in a food processor, then transfer them to a frying pan. Remove casings from sausage; add to frying pan and brown. Remove from heat. Stir in cheese until melted, then add bread crumbs. Spoon stuffing mixture into mushrooms and bake at 350°F for 30 minutes.
Lisa's Hot Chicken Dip
This is my favorite hot dip; it's so delicious!
Ingredients:
- 1 stick butter or margarine
- 2 8-oz. blocks light cream cheese
- 2 cans chunk chicken, drained
- 4 green onions, diced
- 4 oz can sliced mushrooms, drained
Directions:
- Melt butter and cream cheese in microwave for 4 about minutes.
- Add chicken, mushrooms & green onions, stir.
- Bake at 350°F for about 20 minutes.

Oh YES!!! These snacks look marvelous... I'll take a couple of those mushrooms, maybe a slice of pizza...yummy.
