- 1 ready-to-bake pie crust
- 6-7 apples
- 1 cup brown sugar
- 1 tsp. cinnamon
- topping (below)
- 1 cup natural turbinado sugar
- 1 cup unbleached flour
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 1 stick salted butter, cut into small pieces
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- Peel apples and cut into bite-sized chunks. Place them in a bowl and mix well with brown sugar and cinnamon.
- Add apple mixture to pie crust.
- Prepare topping mixture (above) in a separate bowl; sprinkle over apple mixture.
- Preheat oven at 425°F. Bake pie on parchment-lined baking sheet for 15 minutes.
- Cover edges of pie with foil. Lower oven temperature to 375°F and bake for an additional 60 minutes.
