Organizing All Those Accessories

Winter is always a good time to clean out and reorganize, and I am working on doing just that. My first project was to organize my accessories.  I began with my jewelry, arranging it on the new jewelry organizer my wonderful husband gave me (and installed) for Christmas.  I love how it has  tons of slots for earrings!

A couple of years ago, I bought some inexpensive, adhesive-backed plastic jewelry holders on eBay. At the time, it seemed like a good idea. I hung them on the wall. However, the adhesive wasn't strong enough to hold the weight of the jewelry, and it wasn't long before I had several piles of tangled jewelry on the floor. :(  Some of the racks managed to stay on the wall, but when I removed them, the adhesive backing left the walls a mess.

My next task was to organize my scarves.  I found a great scarf rack on Amazon.com.  What I like about this particular rack is that it is made of plastic, so it won't snag the scarves like a metal one would.  After arranging the scarves on the rack, I simply installed a hook on the wall to the left of the jewelry organizer and hung the scarf rack on it.

Now my accessories are all in one place and organized.  This makes it much easier to find everything I need to quickly pull together an outfit.

Thanks for stopping by!

I like this idea. My son bought me a large jewelry chest (the type that sits on the floor, about three feet tall, with lots of drawers and doors) a few years ago, and I love it. However, finding things quickly in it is a bit tricky. It would be great to choose the items I wear more frequently and have them out like yours. SO much easier to find in a hurry! And I'm Always in a hurry! :)
